A scary scene erupted in the Canadian Tire Center crowd on Thursday night when the Ottawa Senators hosted the Tampa Bay Lightning, resulting in a fan needing severe medical attention

Just six days after a medical emergency in Edmonton during an Oilers game, which resulted in ambulances storming the arena and a large delay to the game, another frightening scene has taken place.
According to a fan in attendance at the game, a fellow supporter in the crowd was struck by a puck, prompting 'tons' of arena staff to rush to his attention.
The scene involved lots of blood, the fan stated it seemed quite bad.
Unfortunately for hockey fans in attendance, this is the second occasion in the past week to result in a medical emergency in the stands.
On March 29th, a fan in attendance watching his Oilers take on the Calgary Flames reportedly suffered a heart attack, resulting in him collapsing down 18-20 flights of stairs before he could be stopped, and a lengthy delay to the Battle of Alberta game taking place.
In a statement released by the Oilers just 24 hours after the terrifying scene, the team revealed that the medical team successfully transported the fan to a hospital.
During last night's Battle of Alberta game at Rogers Place, a fan experienced a medical emergency & was attended to by emergency personnel, OEGSE arena & team staff & fans. The game was paused to allow the time & space needed to attend to the fan & prepare them for transport to the hospital.

The Edmonton Oilers & OEGSE are grateful to the emergency services personnel, our OEGSE staff & the fans who assisted in attending to this emergency. Our thoughts & prayers are with the fan, their family & loved ones & we wish them a speedy recovery

In both situations, local medical staff's attention to the fans highlights the importance of our first responders in today's world.
