Terrible news plagues Los Angeles Kings and ex-Chicago Blackhawk Corey Perry
NHL Insider Dennis Bernstein reported today that the Los Angeles Kings remain without one veteran forward in the lineup, and it's likely for quite some time.
The Los Angeles Kings remain without the veteran forward who suffered a knee injury during training camp.
The surgery to correct it would keep him out of the lineup for the next 6-8 weeks.
For the Kings, they're missing the muscle that Perry provides in the bottom six while he is recovering from surgery.
NHL Insider Dennis Bernstein with the report:
Corey Perry Could Miss Significant Time in the lineup
While he was seen skating in a non-contact jersey at practice with the Kings today, the real news is he's past his projected return date,
which was originally October 7th.
"The 40-year-old forward was injured Friday during a training skate. He had surgery and is expected to be sidelined for 6-8 weeks.
The timeline means Perry could be out for the first month of the regular season. The Kings open the regular season against the Colorado Avalanche on Oct. 7."
He remains without a timeline to return while still recovering from his corrective knee surgery, which took place in September.
This is bad news for the Kings, who
signed a deal with him paying him $2 million AAV (average annual value) for the 2025-26 season.
The controversial forward won't be able to join the team until fully recovered, and now GM Ken Holland is on the hook for baiting the Kings fans with the worm.
