Chicago Blackhawks forward Connor Bedard has confirmed he has a new roommate for this year in Frank Nazar, and he thinks it's a perfect match so far.
Chicago Blackhawks forward Connor Bedard has been the face of the rebuilding franchise ever since they took him with the 1st overall pick in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft.
He's got a few new sidekicks for this year, including former 2x Stanley Cup winner
Andre Burakovsky, who was picked up in a trade from the Seattle Kraken over the summer.
But another major face of the Blackhawks is emerging in Frank Nazar, who was assigned to be Bedard's roommate for this year, something Bedard believes is the perfect match so far.
"I think we're both not shutting up a little bit. He's a little louder than me. It's fun, he's such an enjoyable guy to be around and he's already a leader in our room so we're lucky to have a guy like that."
So far this year, Bedard has 6 points (2G, 4A), and new teammate Nazar also has the same stats.
The Blackhawks signed Frank Nazar to a 7-year contract before this season began
The Blackhawks clearly feel strongly enough about Nazar and his potential future impact on the team that they signed him to a new 7-year deal with an AAV (average annual value) of $6.59 million.
Over the course of the deal, he'll end up earning more money than Wayne Gretzky earned in his entire NHL career.
Even though some are
questioning the deal, Blackhawks management believes that Nazar will prove they made the right call when they rolled the dice with the major long-term commitment to him.
