The Chicago Blackhawks have the chance to pick up some more depth after the latest report from analyst Elliotte Friedman said a former 1st-round pick of the New York Rangers is available.

The Chicago Blackhawks now have a pair of wins under head coach Jeff Blashill, and they're looking for more under
Per analyst Elliotte Friedman, Othmann's name is gaining traction in trade rumors, and he could soon be on the move.
"It's early and most teams try to wait until making moves, but there is at least one name gaining traction out there.

That's New York Rangers prospect Brennan Othmann." Friedman said.

He went on to add, "Othmann was sent down to AHL Hartford after failing to make the NHL team, and, since that occurred, there's been conversations with other clubs about his future.

The Rangers have a lot on the wings and it simply may be that he needs a fresh start elsewhere."

This could be a good opportunity for the Blackhawks to not only add depth to the team but also to add a young talent that was thought of enough to have a 1st-round pick spent on him.

Brennan Othmann was taken in the 1st round by the New York Rangers: Now available for trade

Per his scouting report from Elite Prospects, Othmann's strengths are in leading his team's offensive breakout.
"Othmann loves nothing more than to collect the puck on the breakout, lead the charge into the offensive zone, and turn the corner on opposing defenders. He always attacks at full speed, playing a high-pace style, and pressuring with that same level of intensity. He pressures on the forecheck, plays the body, and takes good routes to cut off the opposition's attempts at a breakout."

Othmann was taken with the 16th overall pick in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft by the Rangers. He had 2 assists in 22 games with the Rangers last year.
