Will the Blackhawks take a shot at Carter Hart?
The Blackhawks are currently mapping out the rebuilding plans as the NHL draft gets closer to an unrestricted free agency. The team holds a record 45 + million in cap space who are dead last in the NHL.
The Blackhawks are well below the cap floor. They have plenty of room to either acquire new talent through free agency or move a bad contract to acquire a player to help their rebuild.
It's known on the internet that Carter Hart, the starting goaltender of the Philadelphia Flyers could be made available as he will have one year remaining on his deal and may be available for the Blackhawks to trade for.
Newly minted general manager Danny Briere has told his colleagues that his phone is open and is willing to listen to offers for Hart as the Flyers themselves are currently in a rebuilding phase and trying to figure out which direction they want to head to.
Both teams will be choosing high in the NHL Entry Draft with the Blackhawks selecting first overall and the Flyers selecting 7th overall. The Flyers may be willing to move their 7th round upward to acquire a better talent that will last many years.
That could mean Hart might be an option for something like that.
It remains whether the Blackhawks would be willing to look at Hart and try to make a deal with the Flyers.
