The Chicago Blackhawks and Vancouver Canucks will battle it out on the ice; one storyline to pay attention to is Filip Chytil and Jason Dickinson, as the team could retaliate for the injury he suffered last year as a result of the Blackhawks forward.
The Chicago Blackhawks and Vancouver Canucks will meet tonight on United Center ice. This will be the first time the two teams have met this season, and grudges don't die easily.
For the Canucks, they will arrive in the Blackhawks' home with a score to settle after last season.
If you remember, Jason Dickinson boarded Filip Chytil and
injured him.
The team will undoubtedly look to make Dickinson answer the bell after his reckless hit on Filip Chytil, a forward who's been prone to concussions throughout his career.
"I get it, they're not happy. You don't want to see your teammate hurt, so I respect that. I expect guys to play with integrity. I appreciate whatever has to come, has to come.»
- Jason Dickinson
Jason Dickinson's Blindside Hit on Filip Chytil
After the
dangerous hit on Chytil, Dickinson wouldn't be called for a penalty, surprisingly.
Dynamite forward Keifer Sherwood hasn't forgotten the transgression against Chytil and has vowed to make the Blackhawks forward pay this season.
"It's back-to-back games that guys are taking liberties on our guys. [Dickinson] is going to have to answer the bell next year because I know we don't play them again, but that was a dirty hit. Unnecessary. 6-2. And then he doesn't have the whatever to step on the ice afterwards? [
Derek Forbort] asked him. It is what it is. We'll get him next year." Sherwood said.
Dickinson will be playing against his former team, the Canucks, who have no love lost for him after he injured one of their top players last season.
This should prove to be an intense game tonight, as the Canucks have a purpose to play for: Filip Chytil.
That and to secure a win against the plucky Chicago Blackhawks, who look better under Jeff Blashill this season.
Will Jason Dickinson have to throw down the gloves tonight?
