Frightening Moment as an Emergency Situation Breaks Out During Last Night's WHL Game
Last night the Brandon Wheat Kings faced off against the Prince Albert Raiders and things took a turn for the worst, with just three seconds remaining on the clock in the third period everyone thought the period was over as usual, until Brandon Wheat Kings forward
Charlie Elick was a victim of a emergency injury.
Charlie Elick collided with a opposing teams player and struck the boards in a very awkward manner, leaving him unable to move and motionless.
''Late in the second period, the game is suddenly very much a secondary issue. Wheat Kings defenseman Charlie Elick is being stretchered off the ice after a collision on the right wing boards. He went in extremely awkwardly. Both teams training staff were out right away.''
Both teams' medical staff came to Elick's need, and according to Perry Bergson, a writer for the Brandon Son, it was reported that a signal was thrown that this situation was an emergency.
The Brandon Wheat Kings have yet to release an update but did state they will when they receive one, the Wheat Kings went on to beat the Raiders in a tight manner by a score of 5-4, and dedicated the win to Charlie Elick himself.
