Former Blackhawks defenseman sidelined long-term after injury
The Pittsburgh Penguins got some rough injury news, as they confirmed former Blackhawks defenseman Caleb Jones is going to be out long term.
The Pittsburgh Penguins have impressed even their most serious doubters so far this year by going 6-2 through the opening 8 games of the season and holding the 3rd place spot in the Metropolitan Division.
But they got some unfortunate injury news on the back end, as they confirmed that defenseman Caleb Jones is going to miss the next several weeks because of an injury.
Defenseman Caleb Jones has been placed on Injured Reserve and is expected to miss approximately eight weeks with a lower-body injury.
Jones is playing in his 1st year with the Penguins after he signed a 2 year contract in the summer after playing last year in the Los Angeles Kings organization. He has an assist in 7 games.
Caleb Jones played part of his NHL career with the Blackhawks
But in 2021, he was traded to the Blackhawks with a conditional 3rd round pick in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft for Duncan Keith and Tim Soderlund.
He played 2 years with the Blackhawks before being traded to the Carolina Hurricanes, but then was immediately traded to the Colorado Avalanche without ever playing a single game in a Hurricanes sweater.
He has 56 points (14G, 42A) in 255 career NHL games with the Oilers, Blackhawks, Kings and Penguins.
