Former longtime Hockey Night in Canada host Don Cherry has announced that his time in the hockey world is officially over after multiple decades.

Former Hockey Night in Canada host Don Cherry recently wrapped up his 'Grapevine' podcast after over 300 episodes, but for fans who were hoping that there would be more episodes coming, they'll be left disappointed.
During an interview with journalist Joe Warmington of The Toronto Sun, Cherry confirmed that there would be no follow-up act coming in the future.
»I just decided it was time to pack it in. It was fun, but everything has it's time.»

Cherry also gave a prediction of the ongoing World Series between the Toronto Blue Jays and the Los Angeles Dodgers, Toronto's 1st appearance in the MLB championship series since they last won in 1993.
«The Jays will beat the Dodgers, I predict. Los Angeles has more talent but I love this Blue Jays team. They are scrappers and that kind of team is hard to play against.

While also working on his podcast, Cherry was the longtime host of Coach's Corner on Saturday-night NHL broadcast Hockey Night in Canada with Ron MacLean from 1986 to his infamous termination in 2019.

Don Cherry was infamously fired from Sportsnet in 2019

Cherry, who has long caused controversy with his unabashed opinions, was let go from Sportsnet in 2019 after his controversial controversial comments who didn't wear a ceremonial poppy pin to honour fallen Canadien solders.
You people ... that come here, whatever it is -- you love our way of life. You love our milk and honey. At least you can pay a couple bucks for a poppy or something like that. These guys paid for your way of life that you enjoy in Canada. These guys paid the biggest price for that.

Many of his fans took his side and believed that he was not only unfairly fired but was also betrayed by MacLean, his longtime former co-host.
