Blackhawks' Connor Bedard makes his feelings known on the Blackhawks trading Lukas Reichel to the Canucks
Former 1st-round pick of the Chicago Blackhawks, Lukas Reichel, is now a Vancouver Canuck, as franchise player Connor Bedard makes his feelings apparent on social media.
The Chicago Blackhawks traded Lukas Reichel to the Vancouver Canucks yesterday.
Unable to find a home in the Blackhawks lineup until last season, he never truly played up to his potential.
Playing on the fourth line the majority of last season, he scored 22 points (8-14) in 70 games and was a healthy scratch at times.
Face of the franchise Connor Bedard made his feelings known on Instagram, as the Blackhawks posted a thank-you note to Reichel.
The feelings are obvious, as it appears that Bedard will miss the former 1st-round pick. He and Bedard began their careers in Chicago.
However, for Reichel, it never took off.
Connor Bedard To Miss Lukas Reichel in a Blackhawks uniform?
The two shared time together on the same line and had developed chemistry during the last two seasons they played together.
So it's expected that Bedard would be sad about his exit from the team.
But even Pat Maroon couldn't save Reichel's career from the next steps that Kyle Davidson had to take.
The Blackhawks received a 4th-round pick in the 2027 NHL Draft
for the former 1st-round pick.
A harrowing return for someone who was unable to develop into the player that they were meant to be.
Can the Canucks unlock his full potential?
We'll see if Adam Foote is up to the task.
