The Chicago Blackhawks announce major news of who they have nominated for a prestigious NHL award, and Connor Bedard has been delivered another downfall on the season as it's not him.

19-year-old Connor Bedard's in his sophomore season with the Chicago Blackhawks, and it's certainly not going as planned, the former 2023 first overall draft pick's name has been swirling around in wild trade rumors over the past several weeks.
According to a report we covered from Elliotte Friedman, Bedard could prolong signing with the organization and potentially sign elsewhere if no progress is made before his contract expires at the end of the 2025-26 season.
With the latest announcement by the Chicago Blackhawks, it confirms where they stand on the sophomore player.
The Blackhawks have announced their nomination for the NHL's Bill Masterton Trophy, which is awarded to the individual with the most sportsmanship, perseverance, and dedication to ice hockey, and it's not Connor Bedard.
Veteran forward Pat Maroon, who has recently announced his retirement, has been elected by the Blackhawks for the NHL's Bill Masterton Trophy.
Despite being honored as the most dedicated and sportsmanlike player of the team, Maroon has been healthy scratched in back-to-back games for the Blackhawks.
Bedard's chances at earning this beloved trophy were likely scrapped after receiving two 10-minute misconducts in back-to-back games during the month of March.
As time goes on, Bedard is continuing to learn and mature in the National Hockey League on the big stage, and in no time he will surely be a candidate for the sought-after Bill Masterton Trophy.
