Former Chicago Blackhawks legend nominated for prestigious NHL award despite ongoing struggles in Detroit
Former Chicago Blackhawks legend Patrick Kane has been nominated for the NHL's Bill Masterton Trophy.
The NHL season is just eight days away from ending, as the final set of games will take place on April 17th, two days before the Stanley Cup Playoffs begin on the 19th.
Approaching this time of year has been quite disappointing for Blackhawks fans over the past several seasons, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel for several various reasons.
As one of the youngest teams in the NHL, paired with the boatload of cap space general manager Kyle Davidson has to work with this off-season, a new and improved roster is expected to hit the ice for next season's puck drop.
But what if it entailed a return of a fan favorited Patrick Kane?
A Major Development last month unveiled that it is certainly a possibility, but while rumors continue to swirl, Showtime has been nominated for a prestigious award that highlights his dedication to the game.
The Red Wings have nominated Patrick Kane to go up against 31 other players in the NHL to claim the Bill Masterton Trophy.
Bill Masterton was an NHL player before passing away after succumbing to injuries endured in a game.
The award is delivered to the player that shows the most sportsmanship, dedication and perseverance.
Sadly for Kane, he and former Blackhawk
Alex DeBrincat are in the same boat as the Detroit Red Wings and will miss the playoffs once again.
Kane recently made waves around the NHL after a
heartbreaking interview of him surfaced, where he appeared quite emotional when he found out he won't be reaching the postseason.
