The Chicago Blackhawks Have Given Patrick Kane's 'A' to a New Blackhawk
Patrick Kane is back in Chicago waiting for the news on his trade to be final. Kaner wore the 'A' patch on his jersey all year to represent his role as an alternate captain.
Well, with Kane gone, the Hawks needed someone to fill that void and wear the patch proudly.
The Hawks players and coaches determined that defenseman, Jake McCabe, is the best man for the job, as of now.
This is most likely a temporary thing for the veteran, as he is also likely out the door come next week's trade deadline.
There are only a few names on the Hawks roster that are safe from being traded before the deadline. Once Kane is gone, McCabe joins Domi and Lafferty at the top of the list in terms of which Hawks are leaving next.
I hope McCabe gets to play hockey for a winning team this year, as he has been stuck in unfortunate situations for his entire career. He deserves to play winning hockey, just like he deserves to wear that 'A' on his chest.
