Ex-Blackhawk Star on the Trade Block in Arizona
The Arizona Coyotes are a team that is constantly in flux, dealing with multiple scandals and finding a new home.
A Coyote forward's name has emerged in trade discussions, however.
Schmaltz listed as trade candidate
Nick Schmaltz has been discussed in recent trade talks, The Athletic reports, with the team having to deal with his back-loaded contract while rebuilding.
In light of the team's small market and cap constraints, Schmaltz will likely be offloaded elsewhere.
As a top-six forward for the Coyotes who has played some of his best hockey last two seasons, Schmaltz will fetch a high value to the team. It is likely that he will be a valuable asset to many teams in the league after posting 22 goals and 58 points in 63 games played.
No word on whether he will be traded now or by the trade deadline; we'll have to see where he goes.
