Patrick Kane's Friend Confirms He Knows Where He Will Sign This Season
As Patrick Kane recovers from hip surgery, he's in no hurry to commit to a new contract. Taking his time, he's likely at least a month away from making a decision. However, several teams are already expressing strong interest in the three-time Stanley Cup champion.
Reportedly, the Colorado Avalanche, Dallas Stars, and New York Islanders have shown significant interest. The Edmonton Oilers and Florida Panthers are also contenders in the mix. An anonymous friend of Kane's even hints at his next destination: "He will play for a contender. He already knows the team too."
David Pagnotta, an NHL insider who reports for The Fourth Period, has revealed three potential destinations:
With ample cap space due to
Gabriel Landeskog's LTIR status, the Avalanche, fresh off a Cup run, offer an attractive proposition for Kane.
Back at the trade deadline, Kane was strongly linked to the Oilers, and per Insider Frank Seravalli, "I would have to think... the idea of playing potentially with (Connor) McDavid and/or (Leon) Draisaitl would have to rise to the top of his list."
The Oilers, tied to Kane since the trade deadline, could be appealing, especially with the prospect of playing alongside stars like McDavid and Draisaitl.
Having waived his no-movement clause for them earlier, Kane may see the Rangers as a place to fulfill unfinished goals, especially with his history there.
