According to a report from Elite Prospects, the Chicago Blackhawks and Kyle Davidson are attempting to move up in the draft to 2nd overall in an effort to draft Center Michael Misa.
The Chicago Blackhawks are once again trying to backfill their organization with elite talent. But the question is what cost it will come at, as Kyle Davidson is looking to draft Michael Misa in 2025.
Misa is a 2nd-overall (and potential 1st, depending on the Sharks' selection) consensus pick by insiders and pundits as another elite center.
This season with the Saginaw Spirit, he tallied 134 points (62-72) and has been compared to Connor McDavid and Mitch Marner as far as his abilities go.
«You never say he's going to be that guy, but historically those are the players he's compared to for what he's doing production-wise. But Michael is Michael a great, unique player who can really produce.»
This should be a no-brainer as to why Kyle Davidson is attempting to move up in the draft, so they can have two lines of elite Centers in the NHL, with Connor Bedard and Michael Misa.
The Blackhawks could still draft an elite player at #3rd overall, as Tankathon's NHL mock draft has he team selecting Porter Martone at 3 OA. But none of this is set in stone, and knowing Kyle Davidson, he'll work the phones in order to get the best deal he can.
We're still a few weeks away from the NHL draft, and this could prove to be an interesting storyline to keep track of until then.
