Frightening scene involving NHL prospect results in game being canceled
A scary scene emerged during last night's game featuring the Tri-City Americans and the Seattle Thunderbirds. According to sources, a scrap happened early in the second period, resulting in defenseman Terrell Goldsmith requiring emergency medical attention.
Let's face it -- fighting has always been a part of hockey, and it's likely staying that way.
That said, fans have always embraced that element of the sport, but it can have devastating consequences.
In the case of Tri-City Americans player Terrell Goldsmith, he suffered the brunt of a physical altercation in yesterday's game.

While we can't share the video of the accident, we can describe it for you.
Goldmsith was in a fight with Ashton Cumby of the Seattle Thunderbirds at 1:05 of the second period when he hit his head on the ice after being knocked unconscious.
The game between the two clubs was suspended due to the medical emergency and Goldsmith was rushed to the hospital for medical care.
Terrell Goldsmith remains in hospital this morning under observation. Upon arriving at the hospital last night, he was awake, responsive and in good spirits. The Tri-City Americans appreciate the words of concern and support for Goldsmith. We will continue to update his status.
Thankfully, Goldsmith is on the mend and is in good spirits, but a new update has been released:
