The Chicago Blackhawks appear to have made a surprising decision involving Spencer Knight and Arvid Soderblom at today's practice.

Following last night's 3-2 loss against the Florida Panthers, the Chicago Blackhawks players went straight to Boston, where they are set to play the Bruins tomorrow night.
The team will be looking for its first win of the season, as well as Jeff Blashill's first win behind the Hawks' bench.
Ahead of that game, the Hawks seem to be considering making a surprising lineup change.

Chicago Blackhawks Reveal Surprising Goalie Choice For Matchup Against The Bruins

In the game against the Panthers, Spencer Knight did well, stopping 34 out of the 37 shots fired at him by his former team.
Viewed by most as the team's true number-one goalie, Knight showed that he's ready to fill that role with his performance.
While many expected to see him get a few starts right off the bat to start the regular season, it appears that the Hawks decided to go with Arvid Soderblom for tomorrow's game.
Charlie Roumeliotis shared the news on X:
Ben Pope added an interesting point: Soderblom did well when he faced the Bruins at the end of last season.
Considering this year's condensed calendar, having a strong goalie tandem is crucial to having success in the NHL.
Being able to rely on two great goalies is key, but so is managing the workload.
Soderblom is confident about what he can do with Knight this season. He had interesting comments to make about his relationship with him in a recent interview:
"I feel we're having a good connection going into this year. We can just keep pushing each other and make each other better every day. Yeah, it's going to be a lot of fun."

At the end of the season, Knight should have more games played than Soderblom, but seeing the Hawks use their two goalies early in the season makes sense.
