Team releases update after a frightening scene involving NHL prospect Terrell Goldsmith cancels game
Tri-City Americans release update following a scary scene that hospitalized their star player, NHL prospect Terrell Goldsmith, and canceled their game on Wednesday, March 12th.
Goldsmith, a 19-year old who was drafted in 2023, round 4 #102 overall by the Arizona Coyotes, suffered a frightening injury on Wednesday night.
The young NHL prospect remained unconscious and reportedly suffered a seizure after collapsing to the ice mid-fight, resulting in the game to be totally canceled and rescheduled.
24hrs later, we've received several updates from the team, but the latest one is the most important of them all.
The team revealed that Goldsmith was released from the hospital and is resting at home, while continuing to be monitored by the medical staff of the Tri-City Americans.
"An update on Americans defenseman Terrell Goldsmith:
Terrell Goldsmith was released from hospital last night and is currently resting at home. He will continue to be monitored by the Americans medical staff. The Tri-City Americans sincerely thank everyone for their kind words and support of Goldsmith over the past few days."
While fighting is a key aspect of the game of hockey, plays like this make you second-guess if it should be taken out of the game.
It is sad to see one go down in such manner.
We are all rooting for a speedy recovery, Terrell!
