Tage Thompson could end up on the trade block after openly discussing his frustrations with the Buffalo Sabres; could the Chicago Blackhawks capitalize?
The Buffalo Sabres have been one of the worst NHL teams in recent history, with a league-high 14-year playoff drought.
In spite of all the talent on the team, the franchise hasn't been able to do what it takes to have success in the NHL.
Yesterday, the Sabres lost 3-1 to the Colorado Avalanche, their third straight loss.
They still haven't won a game this season and are one of only two teams with zero points in the standings, alongside the New York Islanders.
Now, reports about frustration in the locker room are going around, with the team's two biggest stars starting to show signs of irritation.

NHL star players deserve to play with great organizations that want to win and are ready to do all it takes to reach their goals.
In Buffalo, the organization hasn't done that at all. Despite bringing in great players and great coaches, it just isn't happening in Buffalo, and fans are tired of it.
Seeing a jersey thrown on the ice after only three games in a season is a new low, and if it continues, the Sabres could end up losing their two best players.
After yesterday's game, Tage Thompson showed a lot of frustration when he was asked to reflect on the loss and the team's morale.
This is clearly confirmation of a Tage Thompson trade that could very well be underway:
"Obviously this sucks; no one wants to lose their first three games. But we've got an opportunity Wednesday to turn it around, and I think that's all we've got to start doing: just look at the next game. Can't keep looking back - last three games, last four seasons, last 14 seasons, whatever you want to do. We've just got to keep our sights set on what's next. And for us, that's Ottawa."
According to Elliotte Friedman, Thompson and Dahlin will ask for a trade if things don't turn around, stating to the organization that something has to happen this year:
For all hockey fans, seeing Dahlin or Thompson being available would be a dream come true.
They are two very good players who could win in the NHL if they were in another organization.
In Chicago, Thompson could be seen as an ideal target to put on Connor Bedard's line.
