The Florida Panthers show their true class with low-blow call out to the Edmonton Oilers' Connor McDavid

The Florida Panthers have secured their second-Stanley Cup in two years. While they haven't established themselves as a legitimate dynasty in the NHL, they are dominating the league.

GM Bill Zito built one of the deepest rosters in the league, and relied on Sergei Bobrovsky, a goalie he's known since his days in Columbus, to provide stellar netminding. Proven right once again, as he's helped backstop the team to cup #2.

Now, the Panthers are making the rounds, touring Sunrise and giving dedicated fans their money's worth.

During these engagements, the Cup is present, and Panthers players and fans are busy celebrating the win.

One of these was significant in the fact that Matthew Tkachuk, a former Calgary Flame who undoubtedly had held a grudge with the Oilers since his Battle of Alberta days, called out Connor McDavid.

Tkachuk said that while fans would be overcome by the fervor of Tkachuk being himself, an agitator both on and off the ice.

While former enforcer and Edmonton Oiler would decry the action as "classless". Which is arguable as it is a classless action by many people's standards.

However, let's not act like the Edmonton Oilers lack any players who'd take the chance to chirp their opponents if they were in the same position.

Hockey as a game continues to evolve, but trash-talking remains a constant which may not go away anytime soon.

Either way, Connor McDavid may yet one day win a Stanley Cup, but not while the Panthers are a dominant team.
