The hockey world mourns the loss of a longtime player and slapshot actress at the age of 71

We lament the announcement of the passing of Guido Tenesi, who was a professional hockey player for the Hershey Bears, and a cast member of the movie "Slapshot".
Guido Tenesi isn't a name you're familiar with, unless you saw him play with the Hershey Bears, or were attentive enough during the credits of "Slapshot," an iconic hockey movie from the 1970s.
Nevertheless, Tenesi had an impact on hockey culture indirectly, thanks to his appearance and contributions in that movie.
His professional hockey career was just as iconic as his role in the Paul Newman-led flick.
In 1974, he played with the Hershey Bears in the AHL and won the Calder Cup championship. He'd follow it up in 1975, winning the Lockhart Cup with the Johnstown Jets in NAHL, proving he had what it takes to win wherever he went.
Tenesi's character in Slapshot was "Billy Charlebois" a flashy style of winger for the Charlestown Chiefs, which wouldn't be too inaccurate of his skill set, given the last three years in the IHL saw him score no less than 30 points.
Steve Carlson, who played one of the Hanson Brothers in Slapshot, would make a commemorative post for Tenesi.

While his efforts and accomplishments go unsung, he remains in the hearts of the hockey world due to his contributions to the culture of the game.
All the while being about his business in the professional world, and never gloating or aggrandizing himself.
