The Chicago Blackhawks have placed a standout forward on waivers, giving 31 other teams to get a chance to claim a great depth option.

Standout forward Joey Anderson has been missing from training camp and the lineup at the start of the season.
Jeff Blashill reported that the depth forward underwent a medical procedure to fix a chronic issue, which caused him to miss training camp and the start of the regular season.
On October 6th, he was on the non-roster injured list due to the recovery time needed for the undisclosed injury.
The 27-year-old forward has been placed on waivers, as he'll join the Rockford IceHogs if he clears them.
Last season, he played 18 games with the Blackhawks and the majority of the year in the AHL with the IceHogs, scoring 27 points (10-17) in 33 games last season.
Now, the Blackhawks organization will receive a standout performer in their depth charts upon his return.

The Chicago Blackhawks Get Standout Forward Back in the lineup

The Blackhawks acquired Joey Anderson from the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2023 as part of the package in which Sam Lafferty and Jake McCabe were received in return.
Anderson has played a total of 97 games for the Blackhawks, in which he scored 24 points (9-15) with a -6 and 8 PIMs.
The former 3rd-round pick of the New Jersey Devils was selected 73rd overall in 2016.
Since then, he's been a call-up option for the Toronto Maple Leafs, the New Jersey Devils, and the Chicago Blackhawks.
The only question is, will another NHL team that has suffered multiple injuries find a spot on the roster for him and make a claim?
