Pat Foley's Memorable Comments On Alexander Karpotsev

The Blackhawks game tonight against the San Jose Sharks will be the end of an era. Pat Foley will be in the booth for the final time tonight. He's got a ton of memorable calls in his 39 years doing the job, and many of them coming in many different situations. Whether it be a game winning goal, a clutch save from a Blackhawks defender, or in this case the departure of a Blackhawks player.

Now is a better time than ever to look back at some of the choice words Foley had for Karpotsev. It was quite the lengthy rant, but here are some snippets that stand out.

"It's a very happy day for this Blackhawks fans because, I'm never gonna have to see Alexander Karpotsev in a Blackhawks uniform again"

"He's a good defenseman..... when he plays! And there's the rub, because Alexander Karpotsev looks for any reason not to play"


"In his time in Chicago he is the worst excuse for a teammate I've ever seen in over two decades doing this job"

"Well Dr. Karpotsev always had an excuse, always found a way to milk the system"

This call, while many fans consider warranted, was definitely out of character for Foley. Don't get me wrong, he definitely will call a player out who's not performing. But he had never taken it to that magnitude and he hasn't since. Hard to argue with anything that was said though. A lot of Foley's comments in this one were valid points.
