Interest is heating up for former Blackhawks general manager.
With the NHL season behind us and the playoffs continuing to move into the second round, numerous NHL teams are beginning to clean House of their management and coaching staff as they prepare for the offseason and to get a new voice for their dressing room.
With the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Calgary Flames recently firing their general managers and president of hockey operations, it appears they have an interest in former Blackhawks general manager Stan Bowman.
As all Blackhawks fans know Bowman was instrumental in the construction of the cup-winning teams with Jonathan Toews and
Patrick Kane as their core.
These teams have shown interest, however, there remains a dark cloud over Bowman's reputation as he was the general manager who was also on hand and in control when the 2010 incident between Kyle Beach and Brad Aldrich occured.
When it became public, it put a black eye on the organization. After an investigation, Stan Bowman stepped down from his role.
These are unchartered waters for the NHL as it remains to be seen if any NHL organization would want to hire Bowman. I would be surprised if they do.
