If you were lucky enough to witness the Great One Wayne Gretzky play we should consider ourselves lucky there will never be another Wayne Gretzky. Watching him play many thought no one will ever break his records.
Except they say records are meant to be Brocken and in 2004 the Washington Capitals would draft Russian phenom Alex Ovechkin. Ovi he's also known is the "Great 8" hasn't disappointed since joining the NHL. On the contrary Ovechkin has surpassed expectations and heading into the season 115 goals away from breaking the great ones record.
Speaking of Legends the greatest player ever from the Czechia Jaromir Jagr recently commented on the likelihood of Ovechkin breaking Gretzky's record here's what he had to say:
"Earlier I thought Ovechkin didn't have any chance to break Gretzky's goal record. It was six years ago. But Alex has changed and became a better and more effective hockey player than when he was in his youth. I think he works harder now. He'll be able to break Gretzky's record if he can stay healthy and keep working as hard as now." - Jaromir Jagr
