Statement issued: 3 key members of the Blackhawks suddenly absent from team practice
Three key Chicago Blackhawks players missed today's practice after last night's 2-1 win over the Anaheim Ducks.
Both goaltenders did well, limiting the offensive production to three goals in total despite 39 shots from the Blackhawks and 30 from the Ducks.
In Chicago, the team wanted to do well for their captain,
Nick Foligno, who stepped away from the team to attend to a personal family matter.
Today, the team was back at practice, and the game apparently took its toll on the players, as two surprising players, in addition to a previously injured player, weren't on the ice.
Three Players Miss Practice After 2-1 Win Against The Ducks
It wasn't surprising to see
Jason Dickinson miss practice after the player wasn't in the lineup for the game against the Ducks due to a hit from Vancouver Canucks' Connor Garland last week:
The reporter Charlie Roumeliotis announced the news on X, adding that with the next game being only next Thursday, the two players will have time to rest before jumping on the ice again:
"Andre Burakovsky, Tyler Bertuzzi, and Jason Dickinson are not on the ice for practice.
Chicago's next game isn't until Thursday, so it shouldn't be too big of a concern. It's been a busy schedule out of the gates. Take the rest when you can get it."
With this year's condensed calendar, getting rest while you can is crucial.
If some veterans feel sacrificing some practice sessions would be beneficial for their performance, don't be surprised if many players around the league do it.
