With the Stanley Cup won by the Colorado Avalanche the 2022 NHL season has come to an end. The exciting part now mean the NHL draft is right arond the corner on July 7th in Montreal, who have the rights to pick first overall in the Bell Centre.
This is something special since the Montreal Canadiens haven't had a first overall pick since 1979. The question now is who is the Canadiens going to pick? Many believe it will be
Shane Wright but
Juraj Slafkovsky, and
Logan Cooley have been tossed around as others choice instead.
However, we might of found the true identity of the Canadiens first overall pick. At least from TSN's Hockey Insider Bob McKenzie who's got a very impressive record of picking the first overall player for 15 years now.
Today's Bob McKenzie revealed his final NHL draft rankings and pick for the upcoming NHL draft. McKenzie would ultimately pick Slovakia born Juraj Slafkovsky as the first overall pick in the draft.
Meaning Canadian born and who many believed was the odds on favorite Shane Wright could possibly go 2nd overall with American born Logan Cooley taking 3rd spot in the draft.
