Blackhawks question young forward's growth for the rebuild.
As the Blackhawks prepare for their offseason and assessment of this terrible campaign, evaluations have been going on with certain players from the coaching staff's perspective. Head coach Luke Richardson has been seeing which players would fit in their mold going forward next year and who will not.
One such player who has come into question is Blackhawks' young forward Phillip Kurashev. The 23-year-old centerman was drafted in the 2018 NHL draft by Chicago in the fourth round, 120th choice overall.
According to chicago.suntimes.com, Kurashev has not progressed as much as they hoped. His statistics have stated that the player has not grown past what he has been for the past three seasons.
With a team that is in the full rebuild phase and plenty of ice time available for him, one would think he would develop further and become a more prominent player with the Blackhawks.
Kurashev has played 70 games and scored nine goals with 16 assists for 25 points. He has 14 penalty minutes and four power-play points.
The Blackhawks will be at home for their next game against the Minnesota Wild on March 10th. Game time will be at 9:00 PM Eastern.
