Blackhawks' Thirteenth Overall Picks Development at a Stoppage - Requires Surgery
Frank Nazar, selected 13th overall in this year's draft, is set to undergo surgery to address a lower body injury that has been troubling the Blackhawks' prospect after getting injured at school (University of Michigan).
Nazar is expected to have the surgery soon, but there is no current timetable for his return.
He plans to improve his game even while recovering, by watching constant film and developing his IQ within the game of hockey.
Michigan intends for him to work on stats throughout the season so that he can learn the game within the game.
They do not want to rush Nazar back, as his long-term health is much more important than playing hockey anytime soon.
There is not an idea of how long he will be out, but expect it to be a lengthy recovery, as they will not have him return if he is anything short of 100%.
