The Chicago Blackhawks appear to make an odd decision involving Connor Bedard's future.
Connor Bedard became eligible to sign a contract extension on July 1, but here we are, with September fast approaching, and nothing has happened yet.
The NHL insider Frank Seravalli shared an update on the situation in an interview online.

If he was thinking in the nine to $10 million range if he's going long term, does this push that number down? Hard to say because there's a real likelihood that Bedard is going to play this out and see how year three goes before signing that deal and there's no rush to do it from either end.

Both players will be a part of the team's future, but in different roles. There's no doubt that Bedard is the face of the team and will lead his teammates to greatness.
As he enters the final season of his entry-level contract, Bedard will look to prove wrong all those who doubted him in his first two NHL years. With a strong season, he could get a massive payday, much more than Nazar's.
