Chicago Blackhawks Defenseman posts a 9 point performance in summer league game
The Chicago Blackhawks' future franchise defenseman, Sam Rinzel, is showing off in Da Beauty League, making this look like a video game, and Kyle Davidson looks like a genius.
Sam Rinzel was selected 25th overall in the 1st-round of the 2022 NHL Draft. The defenseman would join the team at the end of his collegiate career in April, and play 9 games for the Blackhawks and score 5 points with a +1.
This offseason, the Blackhawks are prominent in Minnesota's Da Beauty League, run by former enforcer John Scott.
He'd torch the opposition, scoring 4 goals and 9 points total that night.
Keep in mind that Da Beauty League isn't a checking league, and is a 4-v-4 format, featuring current and past NHLers. The games are played in two 23-minute intervals.
Rinzel would finish the night with 9 points (4-5), and as the Blackhawks' next franchise defenseman, could be a foreboding fo what he's capable of offensively on a good night.
The defenseman earned his ELC with the Blackhawks, earning $941K AAV, and is in year 2 of his 3-year deal.
He played 40 games in the NCAA with the Minnesota Golden Gophers and scored 32 points (10-22) in 2024-25.
