Just days before Frank Nazar signed a $46M extension with the Chicago Blackhawks, he received an invite to Team USA's orientation camp roster, but it's been revealed that he may not make the team.

21-year-old Frank Nazar has made several headlines as of late after signing a monster extension with the Chicago Blackhawks that spans across the next seven years, which makes him the highest-paid player with his level of NHL experience (56 games) in league history, falling shortly behind Kirill Kaprizov's past signing of $45M.
Nazar's end of season performances with the Blackhawks certainly earned him the large payday, but so did his impressive showing at the World Championships alongside some of the NHL's biggest stars.
Nazar tallied 6 goals and 6 assists for 12 points in just 10 games played, which had him tied for first in team points, despite a star-studded roster of prominent NHL'ers such as Tage Thompson, Conor Garland, Clayton Keller, Matty Beniers and more.

Nazar's invite to Team USA's orientation camp may not earn him a roster spot

In a major turn of events, Elliotte Friedman has revealed that it's a big ask for the young forward to crack the roster.
It's no surprise, as Jack Eichel, Auston Matthews, Brady and Matthew Tkachuk, all headline the loaded group.
«It's a big ask for Nazar to make the Olympic team next year but I had guys saying to me, don't write him off.

He might not make it, but he will get runway. He impressed enough people at the World Championships, they're bringing him to camp for a reason.»

- Elliotte Friedman
Friedman states not to write Nazar's name off of the roster just yet, as his performance in the World Championships may just lead to a permanent spot for the Olympics in Milan, Italy.
