Blackhawks' Bedard shows true colours when young fans approached him at practice

There is no denying that Connor Bedard has firmly established himself as the face of the Chicago Blackhawks since they took him with the 1st overall pick in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft.

There may have been some fans who were upset over the Blackhawks winning that year's Draft Lottery, but they ran with it and selected who they believed was the top talent available.

Since then, he's largely become the most visible member of the on-ice product that is trying to get back to the playoffs for the 1st time since 2020.

Bedard's true colours have come out in his interactions with fans, especially younger Chicago fans. He recently took the time to sign autographs for a group of young fans at the team's training facility following a recent practice, even tossing their items right back up to them:

It's good to see Bedard establishing a good relationship with the fans of the city that would love to see him stick with the team through thick and thin.

Bedard is playing in the last year of his current deal, and most indications point toward neither Bedard nor the Blackhawks being in any kind of hurry to sign on the dotted line.

Bedard could very well be waiting to see how the market plays out considering some of the large AAV (average annual values) that other players have recently gotten, but there also doesn't appear to be any serious danger of Bedard reconsidering his time in Chicago and opting to go elsewhere.
