Ovechkin ties NHL goal record and does the ultimate gesture to Wayne Gretzky

Alexander Ovechkin has officially tied Wayne Gretzky's goal record as he scored goal number 894 against the Chicago Blackhawks on Friday.
The Chicago Blackhawks once looked to be the ones to shut down Alex Ovechkin and the "Gr8 Chase" tonight on their home ice.
Ovechkin tallied an early goal tonight against the Blackhawks at 3:52 into the 1st-period.
The Hawks would attempt to come back to stave off defeat from the Capitals.
The Blackhawks' penalty-kill attempted to do everything in their power to stop his signature shot.
Here you can see the team shut down Ovechkin in his office, to keep him from scoring goal #894, but that surely didn't last long.

He did it, he's officially tied for the NHL's all-time goal count with 894, and his gesture to Gretzky was amazing, blowing him a kiss and saluting him while he sat in his booth in attendance.
Of course it was a signature Ovechkin move from his one-timer area, also known as 'Ovi island'.
