Alex Ovechkin faces backlash after video surfaces online of him and Capitals teammates at a bar

A video of Alexander Ovechkin at a bar in the middle of chasing Wayne Gretzky's NHL goal record with his Washington Capitals teammates is going viral for funny reasons, but a silver lining is drawing controversy for the Great Eight.
The Washington Capitals lead the NHL Metropolitan division with 105 points on the season with just eight games remaining, while Ovechkin is leading charge on his hunt to break Gretzky's goal record, just 4 away.
In all the seriousness of the hockey biz, fun times are needed to keep the morale high, and the Washington Capitals were caught on video just doing so at a bar in Boston.
Boston College standout Ryan Leonard recently signed his entry-level contract with the Capitals, and Ovechkin welcomed him to the team with a night one - just one night before they faced off against the Bruins.
The 20-year old former first round pick showed Ovechkin where he went to school while visiting a on-campus bar on Chestnut Hill Avenue, The Circle Tavern, best known for their pizza and drinks.
As fans posted videos online of the bar scene that night, Ovechkin was clearly having the time of his life.

A takeaway from the video that is now drawing controversy is 20-year old Ryan Leonard appearing to have a drink in his hand (to the hand of Ovechkin), and fans are not happy at the underage alcohol consumption taking place.
'Get that 20 year old out of a bar' a fan said on X.
Fans were not too opposed to the idea of the Capitals being out at a college bar while riding a three-game losing streak.
'Maybe you shouldn't be looking so giddy after losing three straight games.'
The underage possible consumption clearly had no effect on the college star, who had a solid showing in his NHL debut.
After the clip made waves on the web, Leonard was asked about the bar-scene moment captured, and revealed he was just having fun with the guys.
«Just to go to dinner with those guys and meet all those guys, I'm really just trying to embrace the moment and spend quality time with those guys,» Leonard said. «Not a lot of time you're getting to go to dinner with one of the greats, so yeah, just trying to embrace it.»
The Capitals nearly took a loss, but edged out the Bruins 4-3 at TD Garden to snap their losing streak and shush the ones who are trying to send heat to them for hving a good time.
