NHL Department of Player Safety makes controversial decision on Jason Dickinson's injuring hit on Filip Chytil
The Chicago Blackhawks played one of their worst games of the season against the Vancouver Canucks on the west coast. Between Artyom Levshunov being the only one to show up and it being a late start due to the game being in Vancouver, there were only a couple things worth of anything good to take away.
Well, a couple other things happened that didn't benefit the Blackhawks.
Bedard got another ten-minute misconduct for the second game straight for jawing off to an official.
Connor was upset afterwards and threw his helmet when he was going back to the locker room.
Connor Bedard showed his frustration after receiving another misconduct penalty but made sure to apologize to the staff after 🤝
But Bedard wasn't the only thing to happen.
Jason Dickinson, who just recently came back, laid a nasty hit on
Filip Chytil, that if you're a Blackhawks fan, you can't even defend that. Dickinson came up from behind
and just creamed him right into the boards.
Filip Chytil went straight to the dressing room after getting hit from behind by Jason Dickinson.
Chytil was on concussion protocol (again) for the game against
the Utah Hockey Club the night after.
The DoPS has been one the most inconsistent things the entire year. It seems as if they pick and choose when they give out suspensions. But with George Paros still running it, it's not going to change.
Plus, the referees are terrible, as they always have been. However, this season, the stripes are a different type of bad.
The NHL has to make changes.
