Announcement: Chicago Blackhawks lose key piece to injury against the Boston Bruins Thursday

The Blackhawks confirmed during the third period that he wouldn't be coming back into the game.

Dickinson was hit by Tanner Jeannot (who had a goal in the game) up against the boards, shoulder to shoulder after crossing center line.

After the initial contact, Jason immediately knew something wasn't right and skated to the bench, signaling for a skater to be ready to take his spot and alerting the trainer.

He looked to be favoring the shoulder that was hit a little bit, as it didn't seem like a head injury, even though the hit was to the upper body area.

Dickinson was a valuable piece in the bottom six last year and proceeded to be a valuable piece in the game on Tuesday when the Hawks visited the Florida Panthers; however, he didn't bring his best game vs. the Bruins.

Unfortunately for Dickinson, he had his season cut short twice last year, sustaining injuries in the beginning and end of the season-an ankle sprain in the beginning and a wrist injury he got in a fight with Jake Neighbours of the St. Louis Blues that forced him out for the last 11 games of the regular season.

He only played in 59 games throughout the entirety of the 2024-25 season and tallied 16 points.

The Bruins were roughing up the Blackhawks all night long, especially Nikita Zadorov, the big 6'5, 221-pound defender. Sam Rinzel took a hit from Zadorov and needed to be seen by the medical staff before returning back to the ice.

Hopefully, Dickinson's injury isn't bad, and he can come back soon.
