According to the Chicago Blackhawks' latest report on Friday, a young defenseman has been assigned to the AHL's Rockford IceHogs.

"The Chicago Blackhawks today announced that the team has assigned defenseman Ethan Del Mastro to the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League.

The Blackhawks host the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday evening at the United Center at 6:00 p.m. CT. The game can be seen on CHSN and heard on WGN Radio."

Blackhawks fans believe Artyom Levshunov should've been sent to the AHL, not Ethan Del Mastro

Chicago Blackhawks fans quickly flooded the comments, judging management's decision to send down one of their better two-way defensemen in Ethan Del Mastro.
Artyom Levshunov, the Blackhawks' no. 2 overall pick in the 2024 entry draft, has been quite messy on the ice so far this NHL season and truly looks like he needs a few years of development before playing with the big dogs.
"You misspelled levshunov"

"Should've been Levshunov"

"Big mistake, losing one of the most dependable penalty killing D-man will not be a wise move"

While this move is under scrutiny, we must trust in Jeff Blashill and Kyle Davidson's judgement to bring Chicago's rich winning culture back under their power.

Do you think the Chicago Blackhawks sent down the wrong defenseman to Rockford, and it should be Artyom Levshunov instead?
