A latest report has revealed that the Blackhawks are in the middle of completing a trade involving 23-year-old German forward Lukas Reichel, who has not been able to bloom in Chicago.
We may have just received confirmation as to where he's being dealt to, and it appears that the Oilers are one of three teams in the mix.
"Re Lukas Reichel rumours: They are working on a deal to have him land somewhere likely before next week when rosters are completed; this is not gonna be a big return, we're talking probably a mid to late round pick."
- Frank Seravalli
"As tweeted yesterday Oilers are kicking tires on German-born F Lukas Reichel in Chi. He was Bowman first round pick in 2020 when Hawks GM. He liked his skill. Current regime not so much As they say, he badly needs change of scenery. Now where he fits here at $1.2m is debatable."

Lukas Reichel sweepstakes down to these 3 teams, including two Canadian NHL franchises
According to David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period, Reichel's trade will see him head to the Edmonton Oilers, Vancouver Canucks, or San Jose Sharks.
"The Vancouver Canucks, Edmonton Oilers and San Jose Sharks are among the teams believed to have interest"
- David Pagnotta
Reichel's time in Chicago took a turn last season and many believed it'd be over after he missed a team meeting, earning himself a
punishment for the organization after 'sleeping in through his morning alarms.'
If Reichel can find consistency, and maybe even a better sleep routine, perhaps he could blossom into what the Blackhawks believed they were getting when they selected him 17th overall.
