The United Center made a massive blunder during the Chicago Blackhawks preseason game against the Detroit Red Wings last Tuesday.
The Chicago Blackhawks hosted the Detroit Red Wings last night for their fifth game of the preseason.
Not only players are in the preseason, but also the team's staff. Last night, a Chicago Blackhawks employee made a mistake that was noticed by most fans when
Shea Weber appeared in their lineup.
United Center Lists Shea Weber On Jumbotron By Mistake During Game
The former Montreal Canadiens captain unofficially retired years ago, but his contract has been going around the NHL from team to team for financial purposes.
Now, the Chicago Blackhawks have the famous number six and Hall of Fame member on their roster and lineup on Tuesday, although he won't take part in another NHL game.
The mistake is obvious: the person working the screen that night mistakenly put Weber's name after seeing Rinzel sent to the box.
Although fans would love to see Weber back in an NHL lineup, they can be happy to see Rinzel in action.
The 21-year-old, six-foot-four defenseman has shown a lot of promise since being drafted 21st overall by the Hawks in 2022. He impressed a lot at the end of last season, scoring five points in his first nine career games.
In three preseason games played so far, Rinzel tallied two assists, and although he was held away from the scoresheet last night, he had four shots, among the highest totals on the team last night.
The team may have lost 3 to 1 to the Red Wings, but performed well, dominating in the shot department. Things are starting to look good for the start of the season in Chicago.
