Connor Bedard's agent reportedly decides his fate in re-signing with the Blackhawks

GM Kyle Davidson and the
Chicago Blackhawks have attempted to turn the Blackhawks into a competitive team.
After all of the recent moves during this season and the offseason, nothing has changed for the team.
Now, NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman has reportedly issued a stern warning to
Connor Bedard and his agency, Newport Sports Management Inc.
According to a report from FlamesNation, who credited Elliotte Friedman with this source, Bedard's agent has advised him not to re-sign in Chicago and to let his entry level contract burn out.
Kyle Davidson's offseason hasn't paid off at all, as he got forward
Teuvo Teravainen and
Tyler Bertuzzi, two forwards who we all thought would add the king of offensive firepower to help center Connor
Bedard.
Instead, they've relegated themselves to depth wingers this season and arguably been disappointing.
These two signings alone echo the issue that Bedard faces in Chicago. Surrounded by 2nd and 3rd-line talent, instead of finding a dominant, elite winger in the NHL like
Mitch Marner could change the team's fortunes.
While Bedard could earn upwards of $13 million on his next contract when his current ELC expires in 2026, it appears that new contract may not be with the Blackhawks.
Instead of rushing to sign an extension, he needs to hold GM Kyle Davidson's feet to the fire and make a promise that he'll find the kind of talent needed to build a winning roster in the NHL.
Bedard has done more than his part, with two seasons in Chicago, and one
Calder Trophy later, he seems unhappy with the Blackhawks.
Will GM Kyle Davidson solve the issues plaguing the lineup, or will he once again waste salary space on veteran placeholders who don't have a future in the organization?
