The Chicago Blackhawks faced off against the Vegas Golden Knights at the United Center for a 8:30 p.m puck drop on Friday, and head coach Anders Sorensen had completed a move with 19-year old forward Connor Bedard that didn't quite make sense.

Bedard and the Blackhawks suited up for a pre-weekend matchup against the Golden Knights, which would see the 32nd team in the NHL take an early lead thanks to Ryan Donato.
The 28-year old upcoming free agent forward buried his first career hat trick, but what's stealing the headlines is the coaching staffs decision with 19-year old Connor Bedard.
But Blackhawks team reporters noticed something different with Bedard at morning skate, something that made many scratch their heads.
After going on a practical season-long goal drought being on the center position, the Blackhawks moved Bedard to wing just a few weeks ago and he has since found his game once again, and the forward was seemingly happy to find the back of the net.

Blackhawks move Bedard back to center in head scratching fashion

In confusing fashion, the Blackhawks made another questionable lineup move, moving Bedard back to the center position for some odd reason, where he is playing his worst hockey at throughout his first two NHL seasons.
Donato, who took Bedard's position, surprisingly soaked up more ice time than their former first overall pick, and earned his first career hat trick.
The result in Bedard being moved was surprising, but should an aging veteran who's a free agent in just a few months time be prioritized over the development of their former first overall pick? No.
The Blackhawks seem to enjoy messing around with Bedard's stability in the lineup, as he has had over 50 plus different linemates this season and now a move back to his unfavorited position, this could alter his contract extension talks if head coach Anders Sorensen is not let go by the Blackhawks this off-season, as we've already discussed prior.
