Terrifying scene involving 27-year old Chicago Blackhawks forward
Blackhawks prospect Artur Kayumov found himself in an ideal situation on Saturday, competing for the KHL's top prize, the Gagarin Cup playoffs with his team, the Yaroslavl Lokomotiv, until he collided with the boards.
The Kontinental Hockey League's season is ramping up as the Gagarin Cup playoffs are in motion.
Like NHL players during the Stanley Cup playoffs, these
KHLers are leaving it all on the ice, and it can be said for one Blackhawks' prospect.
Artur Kayumov, who plays for Lokomotiv, was attempting to crash the net but would instead end up colliding with the boards before being able to finish the play, and score a goal against the opposing Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod.
The fall itself looked quite painful, and you can before he could get a pass off, he would collide into the boards with his face and the front of Kayumov's body taking the brunt of the impact.
While we see the player in motion, he'd inadvertently do the splits and would stand on his head. Kayumov would remain on the ice for a few moments, trying to regain his composure and cope with the immense amount of pain he was suffering through before skating off the ice gingerly.
You could see the young
Blackhawks prospect favoring his legs and his body as he headed to the locker room.
You can see the unintentional acrobatics that he engaged in, as the way his body was contorted looks unnatural.
Afterward, he'd return to the game against Torpedo, fortunately unharmed, it seems. Thankfully, he is ok that we know of.
Kayumov was selected by the Blackhawks 50th overall in the 2016 NHL Draft.
