The Chicago Blackhawks' general manager, Kyle Davidson, will undoubtedly endure an extremely busy offseason this year, and it seems as though fans and reporters have already begun speculating on what his first moves will be, especially regarding one specific veteran, claiming the defenseman may be packing his bags this summer.

Although the organization started off this 2024/25 season on the wrong foot, the team has slowly begun to take its shape, especially its young defensive core, after starting the season with one of the older units in the NHL.
Despite the promising performances displayed by all the young faces in the Blackhawks' roster, the organization has unfortunately been struggling with some of their veterans.
Not every veteran signed over last summer panned out the way Chicago's front office anticipated, including one defenseman who was brought in on a multi-year deal who has not played in over a month, and who's future looks pretty dull in comparison to the rest of Chicago's roster.

The Chicago Blackhawks are suggested to buy out TTJ Brodie

Chicago's TJ Brodie has not endured a game since March 1, when the Blackhawks won 6-3 against the Anaheim Ducks, leaving many to speculate his departure, including NHL insider Ben Pope of the Chicago Sun Times who revealed that he expects the 34-year old to be bought out of the organization this summer.
Take a look:
The recently acquired veteran, Brodie, has struggled immensely within his time in Chicago, leaving many fans to show their frustrations over the fact that he was drawn into the lineup ahead of young key players, such as Ethan Del Mastro and Nolan Allan.
In the vet's 54 games this year, he has two goals and eight assists, to go with his horrible plus/minus of -18 (being the second-lowest plus/minus amongst the rest of the active defensemen on his team).
Brodie is currently signed to a two-year contract this offseason worth $7.5 million, with his cap hit next season being $3.75 (an easy enough salary for Chicago to eat).
Although there is no confirmation regarding whether or not Chicago will buy out this veteran, it is seeming very probable.
