Chicago Blackhawks officially part ways with former 54-point young forward

A recent article by Scott Powers of The Athletic, a well-known Chicago Blackhawks insider, shared that GM Kyle Davidson is not extending the contract of a 25-year-old former fourth-round draft pick, who will hit the free agent market on July 1st.
The Blackhawks recently secured a key piece of their offseason puzzle by inking forward Ryan Donato to a $16M, four-year deal to stay in Chicago.
However, decisions still loom for other pending free agents, as the Blackhawks have multiple players needing new contracts.
Names like Louis Crevier, Wyatt Kaiser, Arvid Soderblom, and Philipp Kurashev are among those awaiting deals, and Scott Powers' report clarifies who's likely to be left out.
Philipp Kurashev Won't Get Blackhawks Offer, Heads to Free Agency
Following a lackluster season with the Blackhawks, marred by a significant hand injury, the 25-year-old former fourth-rounder will become a free agent on July 1st.
Kurashev, once a promising young center after a 54-point 2023-24 campaign, saw his performance dip sharply.
Despite chances to play on the top line with Connor Bedard in the 2024-25 season, he managed just 14 points (7 goals, 7 assists).
The Blackhawks are likely to qualify restricted free agents Louis Crevier, Wyatt Kaiser, and Arvid Söderblom, but others, including Philipp Kurashev, are not expected to receive offers.
