Canadiens' Carey Price trade reportedly set in stone: Analyst reveals exact details and team insight
Per a TVA Sports analyst, the contract of Montreal Canadiens goalie Carey Price is on the verge of being moved to a team in the Western Conference on September 1st.
Montreal Canadiens goalie Carey Price hasn't played since 2022, a brief return to action in what was his 1st time in the crease since leading the Canadiens on a surprise run to the 2021 Stanley Cup Final against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Injuries derailed his career, and while he's not officially retired, his playing days are all but officially ended.
But his contract remains on the books for the Canadiens, and it has been reported to soon be traded.
Per a report from Jean-Charles Lajoie of TVA Sports, Price's contract is about to be moved to a Western Conference team.
#CH fans, be on the lookout. The costly September 1st will see C Price's contract move elsewhere. K Hughes is reportedly willing to trade picks, especially in the first round, to add a natural center to his roster. A complex but effective deal, just like the GM likes, is in the making. The Western Conference is one to watch... And it's all very exciting! 25-26 will be a fascinating season!!
To the Western Conference Price's contract will go; could it end up with Chicago?
How funny would that be, a reunion of
Shea Weber's contract, which is owned by the Blackhawks, and Price.
The Blackhawks have been named as a team to acquire Price's contract
A previously
suggested trade would see the Hawks acquire Price's contract while sending goalie
Laurent Brossoit, who has yet to play a single game in Chicago after signing a 2 year deal last summer, back to Montreal.
Injuries kept Brossoit from action last year with the Blackhawks, and surgery delayed it further. He's still under contract for another year.
