The Chicago Blackhawks hunt for a new coach could end if they secure one on their wishlist, the University of Denver's David Carle.
David Carle is a well-known coach at the collegiate level, due to winning back-to-back gold medals in the IIHF and multiple NCAA championships with the University of Denver.
While some clubs may caution against hiring another NCAA coach due to how well David Quinn has "worked out" in the NHL, Carle is a unique coach who, like Anders Sorensen, has a connection to the Blackhawks already.
It appears that he's on the wishlist of the Blackhawks and GM Kyle Davidson for the replacement of Interim Coach Anders Sorensen.
This was all reported by NHL Insider and DailyFaceOff's Frank Seravalli.
The Blackhawks are all in on Carle, whose record with the University of Denver is impressive: 179-74-17, and two NCAA championships.
But the team would have to consider finding a way to lure him away from the ranks of the NCAA. There's been speculation that he could sign a five-year, $5 million AAV deal, according to Bleacher Nation.
But that has not been confirmed purely speculation at this point.
«According to an NHL executive source, the Chicago Blackhawks are ready to make an offer to Denver University head coach David Carle that they hope the two-time NCAA champion can't refuse.»
The Blackhawks would do well to consider Carle, given his connection to the team through prospects like Aidan Thompson, Oliver Moore, and Frank Nazar. Seems like a natural shoe-in for the position.
Can Kyle Davidson work his magic and bring Carle to Chicago?
