Western Conference team favorites to land sought after head coach David Carle per Elliotte Friedman

Sportsnet insider Elliotte Friedman has just provided insight on University of Denver's current head coach David Carle's next step after this NCAA season, and it involves a Western Conference team.
Currently known as the most sought-after coach on the NHL market is David Carle, who is a two-time NCAA National Champion (2022, 2024) and a two-time Gold Medalist with Team USA (2024, 2025).
Carle has lead his team into the Frozen Four once again and is going for his third national title in the last four years.
As we reported months ago, in his expected leap to the NHL, the Chicago Blackhawks are expected to pursue Carle as they are in search for a new bench boss.
The long tenured coach has had Blackhawks players on his roster such as Oliver Moore, Sam Rinzel, and several others. He is quite familiar with the prospects in Chicago.
Elliotte Friedman has addressed who's leading charge in acquiring his services:
'He's got the hammer. I think Chicago has, or will, talk to him. I think Philly will too... But he's made it very clear that he's not leaving Denver unless he gets what he wants. I think that's gonna be a big ticket.'
Said FriedmanThe insider also shed light on his demands coming into the NHL, and it's all about money:
Friedman says that the average first-year coach in the NHL earns a salary of about $1.2 million. So money is the first thing:
'If David Carle is leaving Denver for the NHL, it's going to be a lot more than that... Carle has that power.'
According to Friedman, the St. Louis Blues interviewed 35-year old David Carle last off-season and had a 'bit of a shock' when salary was discussed.
'I think Carle is going to have to be convinced that there's a reasonable path to winning. I think that one of the things that people are wondering is, 'What is Carle's patience for a rebuild?'
In his six years in Denver, he's posted a 148-62-16 record to total a .690 winning percentage.
With experience coaching youth, it appears the rebuilding Blackhawks have found their ideal candidate.
