The Montreal Canadiens and Kent Hughes could find themselves trading to move up in the draft by acquiring the 3rd OA pick in 2025 from Kyle Davidson and the Blackhawks.
NHL Insider Simon Boisvert has an interesting trade proposal that would allow the Montreal Canadiens to select center
Caleb Desnoyers of the Moncton Wildcats without a hitch.
That would involve moving up in the draft by paying with a lot of draft capital to do so. Kent Hughes would have to move a considerable haul in order to acquire the rising star, and moving up to 3rd OA might be worth it.
"The Snake" Simon Boisvert's proposal would see GM Kent Hughes send two 1st-round picks in the 2025 Draft, and two 2nd-round picks in order to make the trade happen for the 3rd overall from the Blackhawks.
The journalist from La Presse on the Canadian Exchange feels that this would be a worthwhile trade to explore.
Given that the Blackhawks would have more picks in the 1st-round to play with, it might be worth it.
In Montreal: 3rd overall
In Chicago: 16th overall pick, 17th overall pick and 2 2nd round pick
Desnoyers' star has been rising ever since he helped lead the Moncton Wildcats to the QMJHL Championship and the Gilles-Courteau in a victory over the Rimouski Oceanic.
While the Blackhawks would give up a shot at selecting either Porter Martone or Caleb Desnoyers, would this be worth it to you, Blackhawks fans?
Desnoyers tallied 84 points (35-49) in 56 games this season and won the QMJHL Championship.
